A knight is to fight for right and justice
A night is the opposite of day A knight has the might and light of honor A night’s when you sleep the hours away What can we do to end this confusion So that we don’t end in disarray? Know that the knightly virtues Are not the nightly virtues One where you fight your foes And one where you wear bedclothes Don’t try to go to bed If you’re to meet the king instead The knightly not the nightly virtues A knight’s full of grace, full of chivalry A night tails the setting of the sun A knight will defend the meek downtrodden A night’s when you have a little fun What can we do to end this confusion Before the confusion has begun? Know that the knightly virtues Are not the nightly virtues Do you swear fealty Or will you be snuggly Don’t dare to fall asleep When it’s your turn to guard the keep The knightly not the nightly virtues A knight should be wise and show compassion A night’s long when winter days are short A knight shows duty unto the kingdom A night’s when you build a blanket fort What can we do to end this confusion Before all words meaning can distort? Know that the knightly virtues Are not the nightly virtues Do you avoid defeat Or wear slippers on your feet Don’t fight with pillows now Before the throne you have to bow The knightly not the nightly virtues A knight stands for truth, and for inspiration A night’s filled with scary darkling gloom A knight is as brash as clashing longswords A night is as quiet as a tomb What can we do to end this confusion Before the confusion can resume? Know that the knightly virtues Are not the nightly virtues Do you fight to the last Or doze ‘til the dawn is past Will you accept the chain Attempts to wake you are in vain The knightly not the nightly virtues Will you accept the chain Attempts to wake you are in vain The knightly not the nightly virtues |
