Sunset Song

Hilla Stormbringer

Sunset Song

Softly goes the sunlight down
End of day for field and town
Swiftly does the daylight fly
Blow a kiss and wave goodbye

Do all journeys have an end?
Are you one I call a friend?
Wander near and wander far
Never knowing where we are

Do you know the way to go?
Through the summer, through the snow
On and on across the land
When I’m weary take my hand

Travel back to where we start
Comes the time that we must part
Now alone who once were two
When I sleep I dream of you

Blow a kiss and wave goodbye
Swiftly does the daylight fly
End of day for field and town
Softly goes the sunlight down
