Raining Cheese

Hilla Stormbringer

Raining Cheese

Long ago, well before I was born
Once upon a time the moon was made of cheese
But Neil Armstrong and his crew
They flew and flew and flew
And they scared the cheese away, oh yes they did
Oh me, oh my, moon is high in the sky
It was raining, it was raining green cheese

I went down to Munster Indiana
They ought to tell you that it isn't made of cheese
'Cause I traveled way down there
Couldn't find it anywhere
Not a crumb of Munster cheese, oh no indeed
Oh me, oh my, there's a Hoosier in the sky
It was raining, raining Indiana cheese

I was walking on the north side of Chicago
All I wanted was a little taste of cheese
But all I found was pizza sauce
Guarded by some man called "Boss"
And a pizzeria box, can you believe
Oh me, oh my, pizza pie in the sky
It was raining, raining Mozzarella cheese

Way up north beyond the Cheddar Curtain
Oh Wisconsin is the fabled Land of Cheese
That must be the place to go
But I got buried in the snow
And I didn't thaw out 'til the Packers game
Oh me, oh my, teach a badger how to fly
It was raining, it was raining cheddar cheese

So I searched the whole wide world
Doing research for the "Origin of Cheese"
Then a farmer told me how
Told me cheese comes from a cow
He was laughing as I woke up from this dream
Oh me, oh my, cow and moon in the sky
It was raining, it was raining milk and cheese

Oh me, oh my, cow and moon in the sky
It was raining, it was raining milk and cheese
