From my land, looking up, I saw the work of God:
Moon and stars which He set in place,
Their sweet song bade me to go, to meet their vast embrace...
But Terra called and beckoned me to stay,
And my heart hoped that I never go away.


Young man, just standing there, your feet are placed where they belong,
Here on the land that makes you strong!
I call and your heart responds, O listen to my song...
Grow deeper roots here with the passing years,
In my shelter can you rest from all your fears.


From land my fathers cleared, I heard the siren song:
Stay here, be part of what you see!
And oh, how I wanted so, this land was made for me...
In the light my planet begs me stay,
But the night heavens whisper, "Come away."


I left, and I returned, again and yet again;
Wheel of Life spinning 'round and 'round!
And that which I'm looking for, I've sought and never found...
