Seto & Ynes Engagement Song
(Subtitled: Sold His Daughter For Some Pancakes)

Idea Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G57p4Ik0Wc0

T'was a legendary story, / The love of Seto and Ynes,
Yet I struggled for a rhyme here, / Till I recalled what Ynes says!

(Chorus):
Sold your daughter for some pancakes, / Are you so hungry Master John?
Yes, you have to fill your belly! / Who can e'er say you did wrong?

He, a dark man from far Nippon, / She was a fair maid Español -- a!,
Loving, living far apart, they, / Till by her father she was sold!

Good Prince Savaric sought betrothal, / With chest of jewelry, Seto came;
Put off by first-offered bride price, / John Inchingham secured this fame!
(Chorus):

Lochinvar has naught on this man, / If Master's research is proved true.
When John spoke of Cradle-robbing, / He called Ynes a Babe, woo-woooooo!

Still, they'll earn a steady living, / From all their cradles sold in town --
That is, IF, as John suggested, / That Seto's wares were freely found!
(Chorus):

One last thing I have not told you; / I beg you, be not quick to scold.
Roundly, John always contends, "MY / Pancakes are worth their weight in gold!"

That's the story of our Seto, / And of his brilliant bride Ynes.
Yet I struggled for a rhyme here, / Till I recalled what Ynes says!

(Final Chorus):
Sold your daughter for some pancakes, / Oh, you crafty Master John!
Let Ynes have her own True Love! / And your "trading" did no wrong!
{NOTE: USE THE AIR QUOTES ON "TRADING"!}

(Spoken Outro:)

"She look'd down to sigh, Ynes scrunched up to laugh,
With a smile on her lips for her dear Daddy's gaff.
So daring in love, and so dauntless in brawn,
Have ye e’er heard of gallant like young Seto-san?"
