Viking Hawai'i

Taliesin Wordweaver

(Sung to the tune of Scarborough Fair)

Are you going to Viking Hawai'i?
Valleys, sheep, volcanos and ice
Remember me to one who sails there
He once owed a weregild of mine

Tell him to make me a chainmail shirt
Valleys, sheep, volcanos and ice
Without a forge, nor fine wire work
For then he's paid a weregild of mine

Tell him to sow me a crop that will grow
Valleys, sheep, volcanos and ice
Between the seas and lava flows
For then he's paid a weregild of mine

Tell him to build me a ship out of leather
Valleys, sheep, volcanos and ice
And steer it clear with a rudder of heather
For then he's paid a weregild of mine

Tell him to make me a quiver of arrows
Valleys, sheep, volcanoes and ice
and tip the shaft with the teeth of a sparrow
For then he's paid a weregild of mine

If he tells me he can't, then I'll reply
Valleys, sheep, volcanoes and ice
Vow to me that you will try
Or you shall be a weregild of mine
