Guardian's Song

Ríoghnach Locha Eachach

Through tides and troubles I have knelt beside her
Through winds and storms I have stayed by her side
I hear the drumbeats on our heels and hide her
But still the sunrise comes too soon tonight

My lady sister, I am here beside you
Though rust and toil keep you in morning light
I am and always will be steps behind you
Until we meet again at fall of night

CHORUS
I hear the wails
Farmers fell
Heed my call of night
I hear the drums
Morning comes
How I curse the light

Through tiny whispers, I attempt to guide her
Though all seems lost, I know I must abide
The whims and wishes of others do try her
But I must keep her fire burning bright

The other people do not know her trials
She sets herself aflame to keep them warm
But in the end, I know she'll fight their battles
Though no one else will see her so war-torn

Another day dawns brightly in the distance
Another day she dons her clear armor
Another night has passed from this existence
Another night will return my martyr

CHORUS

My lady sister, I am here beside you
Take off your bloodied gear and shed your tears
Oh, would the field line falter if you withdrew?
You need not every day go face your fears

My lady sister, I am here beside you
My lady sister, I am here to stay
Horizons will still dawn for others, it's true
Just leave the garrison this once, I pray
