Mid-Realm Fall Crown Praise Poem 2024 - Ix

Cerian Cantwr

Ix

Ixtilixochitl
Is quite easy to pronounce.
First say, 'Eeeesh,' then 'ta,' and 'leeeesh'
That's half the syllable counts.
It ends then with "O'sheeeet-el,"
A clearly Irish name,
So lilting and so lyrical -
So painless to proclaim.

So, do not be dismayed
By its sesquipedalian length
No effort to enunciate
Nor tongue twisting feat of strength
For if victorious on this day
In skill, strength, and swordplay; it
Will be fun throughout his reign
To see heralds try to say it.
