The Silver Thimble Round

Master Cerian Cantwr

Chorus:
Pins and needles, stitch and sew,
Beads and bobbin lace do go
On dress and doublet, vest and gown.
Pass the silver thimble round.
Verses:
First the fabric you must find
To fit the garb you have in mind.
Then trim and buttons, notions needs,
Plus a string or so of beads.

Now measure, mark, and cut to size
The pieces that will make your prize.
There's one thing more 'fore work proceeds,
That's a few score more of beads.

With sharpened needles start to sew,
The pieces now together go.
For one thing more this dress now pleads,
Get a gross or more of beads.

The pieces sewn, now starts the fun,
As decorations are begun.
And so this dress excess exceeds
We'll add a thousand thousand beads.

To finish in conspicuous style,
Sew couching thread on by the mile.
There's one thing more so all succeeds,
That's billions and billions and billions of beads.
Yes, billions and billions and billions of beads.
