Meeting at the River Terza Rima: Meeting at the River - Kateryn Draper Recorded at Bardic Madness 2021 in the ethereal realm. Terza Rima: Terza rima is an Italian verse form composed of iambic tercets (three-line groupings). The end-word of the second line in one tercet supplies the rhyme for the first and third lines in the following tercet. Thus, the rhyme scheme (aba, bcb, cdc, ded) continues through to the final stanza or line. The only time the form changes is at the conclusion of the poem, where an additional single line, which rhymes with the second line of the final tercet, stands alone; the rhyme scheme at the end of the poem looks like this: "[...] yzy z". The metre is often iambic pentameter. |
