My Laurel Told Me

Tune: My Mother Told Me (Perły i Łotry)

My Laurel told me
Don't apologize
Sing a lot of songs
Then what could go wrong?
With shenanigans
Try not to get caught
But whenever you're able
Gain so much word-fame
Gain so much word-fame

Then my Laurel told me
This song is too short
But not a word did loan
Left me all alone
Still I wrote more lines
Whining in this verse
I'll just blame the peerage
And gain so much word-fame
Gain so much word-fame

I told my Laurel
That's it, I am done
This verse is my last
Patience is not vast
I will sing these words
Just a humble bard
Know you won't believe it
Have too much word-fame
I have too much word-fame

My Laurel told me
This is what I'll do
I will beg a boon
Elevation soon
My mind's in a whirl
Now who will I blame?
I have joined the peerage
Because of my word-fame
Because of my word-fame.

Dear my apprentices...
Listen to my words
It's not very wise
Leaving bards unsupervised
That is when you can
Plot shenanigans
Just know, when you're discovered
You gain so much word-fame
Gain so much word-fame
