When Mum Comes Home

Ríoghnach Locha Eachach

Come, little sister, don't you fret
If you're a good girl, then I'll bet
There'll be a sweetie for you yet
Soon as Mum comes home

Hush, little sister, dry your tears
There is nothing for you to fear
Listen for Mum with a careful ear
Soon she will be home

CHORUS
Silently the sun sets
Birds no longer call
If you listen closely
You'll hear nothing at all

Now, little sister, worry not
The water's clean and the pantry's stocked
If we are careful, none will rot
Not till Mum comes home.

Hurry now, sister, quickly tread
We do not want to burn the bread
I bet our Mum will be impressed
Soon as she is home

CHORUS

Don't worry, sister, close your eyes
Turn back around and go inside
I promise all will be alright
Please go on back home

Careful now, Mother, that was close
Be more aware of where you go
If you are bad, then you should know
You will not come home

CHORUS
