The Bard's Greatest Plea

Ríoghnach Locha nEchaigh

Let me see your bard book, please and thank you
I just need to see one song
It's been years since I heard it, but I knew all along
It had to exist out there somewhere
Not just in my head, but a real bard's song!

It wasn't by Wyndreth Berginsdottir
Thomas Bordeaux nor Dahrien Cordell
It wasn't by Hilla Stormbringer
Nor Marian of Heatherdale

Let me see your bard book, please and thank you
I just need to see one song
It's been years since I heard it, but I knew all along
It had to exist out there somewhere
Not just in my head, but a real bard's song!

It wasn't by Robert Fitzmorgan
Ioseph of Locksley nor John Inchingham
It wasn't by Iolo FitzOwen
Nor Lorelei Skye nor Mikal the Ram

Let me see your bard book, please and thank you
I just need to see one song
It's been years since I heard it, but I knew all along
It had to exist out there somewhere
Not just in my head, but a real bard's song!

As soon as you sang it, then I knew
I wasn't crazy (at least for this)
I'd heard it before; my mem'ry's not amiss
Let me copy it down; I've paper right here
It's not just in my head, but a real bard's song!

And it wasn't by Cerian Cantwr!
